
Introduction
In this video, I speak directly to secondary teachers about rethinking the reteach/retest process so that it becomes more than a checklist. Many students complete corrections, attend tutorials, finish extra practice, and still make the same mistakes on a retest. This video highlights how Edpuzzle can help teachers move students from task completion to true understanding by using short reteach videos, embedded questions, immediate feedback, reflection prompts, and data to determine retest readiness.
The main message is simple: retesting should not just give students another chance to earn points; it should give them another chance to learn. Using an Algebra I example with slope and y-intercept, the video shows how teachers can design interactive reteach lessons that help students identify misconceptions, rebuild understanding, and approach reassessment with more confidence.
Reflection
Creating this video helped me see how research can become more accessible and practical for classroom teachers. While my article allowed me to explain the purpose of Edpuzzle reteach through research and classroom experience, the video helped turn those ideas into a clear, visual message that teachers could quickly understand and apply.
I also learned that effective technology integration is not about the tool itself, but about the instructional purpose behind it. Edpuzzle should not replace teacher interaction, student discourse, or written practice. Instead, it can strengthen the reteach/retest cycle by making it more focused, interactive, reflective, and data-informed. My hope is that this video encourages secondary teachers to rethink what happens before a retest and create reteach opportunities that help students move from correction to lasting understanding.
